Lake of Bays
As the name suggests Lake of Bays is a large lake in Muskoka complete with many bays. Dwight Bay, Portage Bay, and Ten Mile Bay just to name a few. The lake is named after the Township it sits in which includes the towns of Dorset, Baysville and Dwight.
Being the second largest lake in Muskoka, Lake of Bays offers miles of boating and stunning views with its crystal-clear waters. Being a true gem in cottage country Lake of Bays delivers on all the expectations that come with the Muskoka label. Waterfront properties and shorelines on Lake of bays can vary but are typically slightly sloping with a hard bottom beach.
Fishing in Lake of Bays is a popular activity given the clear and deep waters. Lake Trout are the most common fish in the lake; however, it is also home to Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow Trout and Brook Trout.
Most properties on the lake are very close to amenities and activities with the Baysville Marina, The Lake of Bays Brewing Company, and The Cast Iron Restaurant in Baysville; The Trading Bay Dining Company, and scenic Dorset Lookout Tower in Dorset; and The Moose Café and Algonquin Adventure Tours in Dwight. There are plenty of activities to do round the lake. Both Algonquin and Arrowhead provincial parks are nearby as well, for lots of activity options.
